One of my favorite parts of my birthday was purchasing a giant food board from World Market! We bought lots of food from Sam’s Club for our party, and served light snacks with soup and salad for a delicious, easy dinner! It was so much fun.
If you’re looking for a fantastic pecan pie bar recipe, this is it. I think these bars are better than the original pie version! I made these for Thanksgiving last year and they were absolutely delicious! Here’s the link: Pecan Pie Bars
With fall arriving, it’s officially chili season here (in Texas we have to wait until we’re not sweating!).
My favorite recipe is actually mostly a kit: Wick Fowler’s Texas Style 2-Alarm Chili Kit. I’ve tried making my own more than once and have never found a result I like as much as the final result of the packaged spices.
Instead of following the box recipe, I use two kits with 3 lbs. of ground turkey. I add most of the called for water (two big cans full, 28 oz.) along with two 28 oz. cans of crushed tomatoes and plenty of salt. I leave out the tomato sauce and the red pepper entirely.
It’s a modified version but it feeds a crowd and we all like it!
Let me know if you try it!
This is the most magical chocolate cake recipe in all the land… (hence the sparkles ;)) It has been requested at my house numerous times per year. My family goes crazy for it, this cake, but I’m not sure they realize the recipe comes entirely from the back of the Hershey’s cocoa box!
Hershey’s truly did a fantastic job with this one. We had it again tonight and it was, as always, a huge winner. (Well, at least for those of us who were partaking of sugar, ha! I can’t believe I did this, but I ACCIDENTALLY tasted a tiny bite of cake when I went to ice it. I totally forgot I was eliminating sugar this month. Really! )
